DualBackup is the best solution to back
up your important files locally and
remotely. With one configuration,
DualBackup automatically backs up your
files to local backup storage such as
external USB hard drive and our backup
servers in data center located in the
United State. There are two more
reasons why DualBackup is your best
choice for protecting important
files:
Secure
and
Encrypted:
Data is
encrypted
with
256-bit
Advanced
Encryption
Standard
on local
backup
storage and
online backup server.
Data is
further
encrypted
with SSL
when
being
transferred
over the
network.
With two

protection,
only you
can
access
and know
the
contents
of your data.
Easy to use:
With

user
interface,
it is
easy to

Your data is encrypted twice before
leaving your computer. Even file names
and directory structures are encrypted.
Data remains encrypted in both local
backup storage and backup server.
Encrypted data is downloaded into your
computer and decrypted in your computer
only. No one else can know the
content of your
data, not even our staff.
It is very important that you
remember your passwords, especially your
data encryption password. Without the
data encryption password, your data
cannot be decrypted. We can only help to
reset your website access password and
computer backup account passwords.
Please note that we cannot get back your
old password as your password is NOT
stored in plaintext form in our
database. We only store salted hash
string of your password. |
You can
choose to enable or disable automatic
backup in the Schedule window. You can
open the Schedule window from the menu
(Tools > Schedule) or by clicking the
Change Schedule link in Control Center.
You can choose back up your files daily
or just on certain days every week. By
default, DualBackup starts at randomly
selected time based on the last backup
time. You can also specify the start
time. If a local backup was skipped
because the local backup storage was
inaccessible (for example, you didn't
plug in the external drive), DualBackup
automatically starts when the local
backup storage becomes accessible. If a
backup was missed because your computer
was turned off, then next time you turn
on your computer, DualBackup will
automatically start after around 20
minutes. |
You
should back up all your important data
such as your client information,
documents, photos, and videos of your
family. You may choose not to back up
the program files and Windows
installation directory as they are less
important. |
A full
backup is done at the first time,
and in subsequence backup, only new and
changed files are backed up. DualBackup
keeps a certain number of revisions of
the backup. You can set the number of
revisions for local backup from the
General tab of the Options window. The
number of revisions for online backup
depends on the backup service plan. |
Your
files are encrypted before leaving your
computer. The encrypted files are
transferred to our backup servers
located in the United States using
256-bit SSL. |
Local
backup is fast which can back up 2 MB of
data per seconds, and online backup
speed depends on the network connection.
With the concurrent transfer technology,
DualBackup is fast, especially when
backing large number of small files. The
first backup may take longer time, and
the subsequence backups will be quite
fast as DualBackup only backs up new and
changed files. |
First
you need to install the DualBackup
software, then you specify the local
backup location and enter the online
backup account and password. With a few
clicks, you can get your files back.

DualBackup automatically restore files
from local backup storage and our backup
servers. If a file is restored from the
local storage, it is very fast.
Typically you can restore files at 2-3
MB per second. If a file is restored
from the backup servers, the restoring
speed depends on your network
connection.
Restoring your files from the servers will be faster than
backup. Usually the download speed of
your network connection is much faster
than the upload speed. |
